Henry and Liv are proud to be part of the Harvest Workers’ Co-op; a group of six
(Martin, Sara, Jo & Kevin) like minded people. Together are running an
organic farm shop in Okehampton and run an exciting programme of educational events
on everything food and farming.

The Co-op aims to:

-
Provide access to affordable local organic and sustainable food
-
Support local producers using organic and ecological methods of farming
-
Enable understanding of the social, environmental and health issues of food through educational activities
-
Contribute to building food sovereignty and community strength

For us at Down Farm it is providing an excellent platform for us to sell our produce. It is also an amazing supportive framework to help us run a shop: we definitely couldn’t do it alone, and our other co-op members have helped ensure we are running a fruitful business.

The co-op is more than just a shop, we running workshops and events to get our community talking about where our food comes from, how is it farmed, and what effects does that have on our environment, community, local economy and life?

Keep an eyeout for our learning, sharing and exploring days on our events page.
